Congrats on your new purchase.

Side note, does anyone know if the 'new' orange buddy color is close to the 'orange' stella as in this photo? I'm torn between trying to get an old sunset orange buddy while they have them and waiting for the new orange. This photo with Stellas shows an orange that *might* be closer to the new orange Buddy...and I like it.

i "think" the new buddy is similar in color, but with a heaping dose of metal flake in the paint; which to me cheeses it up pretty good(keep in mind this is based entirely off of pictures online). The sunset buddy has metal flake paint too, but it looks more subtle. The sunset buddy was my fave, but now the orange buddy's dont look quite as cool in my humble opinion. That being said......a buddy could be poop colored and still be cool.

in my opinion, i like when the buddy has retro-ish colors since it is a spin off of retro scooters.

agreed.... and i just noticed the guy in the pic on the floor working with tools on the new stella.... i changed my mind, pick the one on the right, pick the one on the right.... lol....

Spectacular! You are a fortunate scooterist.

Today was the first day I could ride in over a week. I was thinking of stopping at Sportique on my way home to check out and maybe test ride a Stella but it got really cold on my way home. It's supposed to warm up nicely the next few days, hopefully I can find a spare hour or two to check them out in the flesh.

I believe the Stella is just a 150cc, not a 225cc model..? :D

SEATTLE needs some Stellas---bad... this week's weather, while chilly, would have been lovely for breaking her in...

But no riding for me... my buddy is awaiting an Engine transplant. (a story for another post)

I believe Phil (from Genuine) said that the orange of the Stella was the same color of the new Buddy. I know I heard it somewhere at Cabin Fever.

well friends, its a done deal, the one on the right pictured is now mine! It has 40 miles on it after yesterday and I must admit, shifting is pretty fun. The Stella is faster than I imagined, and if you aren't careful in first gear, you get a little wheelie action.

Try 7,500!

The good news is you can bring any scoot over 3 years old into CA with no mileage requirement. So older Stellas and Vespa PXs are now fair game.

heres a pic of the stella in the front of my condo, it goes perfectly with my helmet! lol. i look like a tool, all matchy matchy. oh well, im afraid the stella needs a white old school military star on the side also, so i look like im riding into battle against some germans.

Yes, you could ride in reenactments of the scooter battles India fought against Germany! Take that, Zundapp!

Super nice ride PCB!! Mine is in a crate somewhere between Chicago and Seattle... (hopefully closer to Seattle!) Breaking it in nice and easy? If the weather holds, I've threatened to do a 'tour' of Seattle in a weekend to get the early miles done and over with!!

Check out the forums at stellaspeed.com. TONS and TONS of information... (They are rougher around the edges, and particular about SEARCHING before you ask questions. But they are passionate about their Stellas!!) I"m sure they'd be eager to get your impressions about the new Stellas.

Make sure to get the UPC sticker off under the seat (the longer it's on there, the harder it is to get off!)

still waiting in Seattle,
mv

The tangerine Stella and the tangerine Buddy are not the same color. I wanted the Stella soooo bad but decided I was too intimidated by the manual shifting for a first scoot. I've seen the two oranges in person and the Stella is a much better orange than the Buddy, IMO. All of the Stella colors are fabulous! I still like the tangerine Buddy, that's the color I bought. Maybe someday I'll add a Stella to the mix!

I'm hoping for new Stella colors in '09. Maybe even a special edition like Genuine used to do.

I'm also hoping for a Stella I can buy in CA. Any chance, Genuine? :)
