Another great fill-up!
I am averaging about 103 mpg over the last 3 tanks! WOO HOO!
My scoot will have paid for itself in savings in about 11 months! Unreal.
I was paying $350/month to fill up the MDX...that's now down to about $280 (figuring on 1 full tank per month).
Yep...12 months to break even! How freakin' cool is that????

ummm.... your scooter cost $770?
$350 - $280 = $70 X 11 = $770.
Or do you mean you went from $350 to $28??
I like jumping on people because of their typos!
This is all light - hearted. I am allways curious about breakeven numbers.
Did you get your break even date from that website?

How fast are you riding it? Do you accelerate from a stop very quickly?MarkTur wrote:I am averaging about 103 mpg over the last 3 tanks! WOO HOO!
I ask because I'm 6' 150lbs and only get around 88 bmpg. I typically ride between 40bmph and 55bmph. I accelerate quickly about 50% of the time.

OK, yes, that's my savings ($280 per month) by not driving (ie. fueling) the MDX. I am accounting for 1 full tank per month not going away.
$3350 (purchase price) / 280 = 13 months (14 because of a remainder if you want to be technical)
-----------------------------
Acceleration: I turn the throttle smoothly - rarely to full though - 3/4 most of the time,I guess.
I normally cruise around 50-55 bmph around town.
Thanks

Mine is pretty easy. I was spending in the realm of $59 a week in the Subaru and that dropped to about $9 a week in the Buddy. $200 a month. I guess I should deduct the 1 tank I've almost gone through in the Soob since June 20th.

That is great Mark! Not to rain on your high spirits but are you also taking into account any other added costs for riding your Buddy? Like any additional gear you might have bought? Any mods to the Buddy? Insurance costs? Just curious as my savings are pretty significant but due to having children they are not as significant as your so I am looking at a few years before I recoup all my investment. This of course is not counting the fun factor immediately reducing the cost recoup to zero.

Well...gear doesn't count - that's transferrable to any bike....insurance and fuel and maintenace are "consumables"...can't count that either - any vehicle requires it...
Just my opinion...
And upgrades...well, I throw away that receipt after I know it's working...so no, I'm not including that either..
It's all good though!
