That would be Rick Rubin not Paul Rubin.
He is way cooler then Paul Reubens, Pee Wee Herman, if that is what you were thinking.

I used to think Rick Rubin was cool. He's good at getting artists to try new things, but I don't like his production style. He's no Dust Brothers and certainly no Steve Albini.
And he's not nearly as cool nor was he ever as cool as Paul Ruebens!
There was a photo of Owen Wilson riding his Vespa barefoot going around right before his nervous breakdown. Looks like he's upgraded to flip-flops.

Lots of pics online of Owen, the Butterscotch Stallion, riding around near Malibu without a helmet or shoes, sometimes sandals or flip flops. He's also been photographed with various women riding a silver LX. I think he bought two—the aurora blue one for himself and the silver for his gals du jour.
IIRC, Rubin also has (or had) a GTS.

WE owe him for changing the beastie boys from a bad hardcore band into a great hip hop band, too, I just think his ideas are better than his actual recording/engineering skills. The Cash stuff is good because they kept it simple.chloefpuff wrote:Music lovers owe Rick Rubin a debt of gratitude for resurrecting Johnny Cash' career in the early '90s. He recorded some of his best music ever with Rubin.

Unfortunately, it didn't work as well with Neil Diamond.illnoise wrote:WE owe him for changing the beastie boys from a bad hardcore band into a great hip hop band, too, I just think his ideas are better than his actual recording/engineering skills. I'll give him big props for DefJam Records and producing the first two Public Enemy records… and Justin Timberlake's last one…
