Agreed.

I'd like a bacon emoticon as well. I find myself rereading the Bacon thread (http://www.modernbuddy.com/forum/topic8447.html) over and over again. Mmm, bacon.

What a great sounding ride. Sweet patch too. Wish I'd been a rider back then.

Anyone here familiar with the S.A.P.S. guide? That's short for the "Super Abnormal Phenomena Survival" guide. It was published in the back of an old Creepy or Eerie issue years and years ago. Very fun stuff!

I'm a Z+ too, but I do spend enough time at the range to hone my zombie killing skills. Fun test. Now we just have to wait until the end of the world to try all this out.

Folks,
The best definitive guide on Zombie defense/preparedness is Max Brooks "The Zombie Survival Guide". Check out his other book "World War Z"(both really good books!).
I have read a lot of talk here about Zombies, and general defense. Are we talking "Night of the Living Dead" zombies or "28 Days Later" zombies? What level of infection are we talking about, local outbreak or epidemic? just curious.

I'm thinking this is the type of outbreak that produces the scream and snarl and run at top speed to eat your face off type of zombie. Me and a few guys at work talk about this all the time (yes very little actual work gets done). We have our bug out bags set up and a few plans on where best to defend and hold up during the zombie fest. So what do you think are going to be your best anti-zombie weapons? A shotgun? AR-15 style rifle? Chainsaw? Or maybe a chainsaw mounted on a shotgun?

machetes are good. I wouldn't really choose it as my first line of defense unless it was really sharp. I would probably go for a good ol' mace. Mainly because the machete is not going to cut through all the bone and I would be tempted to stab the chest, then you can't pull it back out. Heavier objects could hit a lot harder. just have a machete strapped to your back to chop off some heads after you immobilize them. and maybe some grenades would be cool for zombie mobs.

Sorry, maybe a little too in depth, but you gotta consider these things man.

A zombie rally might be okay, but everyone would have to ride really slowly and there would be a lot of stopping to go "UHHHHerrrrrrrr!" and so on.

This game had some annoyances for me. I hate that if you didn't move enough more zombies would suddenly spawn behind you to attack.

I guess the game didn't like me calmly sniping EVERY zombie in the game in the head.

A zombie rally would be like the Thriller video, except on scooters! As for video games...have you tried Call of Duty: World at War? It's got a sweet level where you get to kill not only zombies...but Nazi Zombies!

Machetes are better than nothing, but far from the best. Probably the most common and best melee weapon(unless you are at a Ren. Fair(deny it)), is the good ol pry/crowbar. Blunt force can be just as effective, without the work of, cutting off a zombies head with a machete. Also check out a trench knife(gotta be real close to use it tho). The crowbar can also be used for other things as well.
Grenades are not as effective as you might think on the un-living, and the noise might just draw more to you general location.
From the responses I've read so far, we could all benefit from reading(or re-reading) the survival guide.
