Among the mods I'm considering - adding brake/running lights to my topcase (homebrew - no kit available) and adding additional headlight(s) - a common need emerges, what kind of quick connect fittings should I use? I need something that I can unplug when I take the topcase off (or the front panel) that will protect the wiring from the elements. Something like you would use when hooking up the lights on a trailer only smaller.
Any ideas for what will work and sources from which to buy?

There are a number of posts on connecting lights to top cases in the ModernVespa Project Reports forum. This thread shows the type of connector you'll probably want:

I've seen these with plastic "caps" for when they're disconnected.

As running lights, maybe, but not if you want 'em wired to your brakes or turn signals.polianarchy wrote:What about those wee sticky LEDs they mount on helmets? Would those work for a top case? No wiring necessary, and they are wind-activated! Whee!
I really want to do an LED mod but am too chicken to do it—not enough confidence in my untested wiring skills.
