Fog City Inserts

Post by lobsterman »

After yesterdays ride in the rain, I asked for anti-fog help in another thread.

While it was suggested that my breathing might be the cause of my fogging problem, I am not ready to give that habit up just yet.

So... after Kevin K suggested them and some googling of my own, I am very interested in the Fog City inserts and wonder how many of you use that sort of thing and what your experience has been. Kevin K said he has had good experience with them. Anybody else have anything to add before I tell my wife I need to buy yet another accessory?

My only complaint with them revolves around riding at night. They produce a halo effect around any headlights coming at you. This is really only a problem riding on dark roads without street lights. Other than that, they have served me well over the last few years. I don't use them in the summer since I have spare faceshields for both of my helmets.

Kevin K,

I really need to get one of these.

Where do you get yours from?

The cycle shop with a plethora of accessories on my side of town doesn't carry them.

If it's online could you provide a link? I have found it googling around but the price and shipping seem to vary a bit and I'd prefer to use a website with proven service. It pains me to spend $6 or more to ship something that probably weighs about 6oz.

Did these work out for you? Do anyone else have any tips on keeping your helmet from fogging?

Since I purchased a Nolan n100e that comes with a fog insert, I don't have the problem of fogging visors, but I do have the fogging glasses problem now. I just have to crack the visor at stop lights.

Ok, I am just a little confused here. I thought I bought a Fog City shield from you a few months back?
