To the woman in the green Prius, thank you for hitting the curb causing your rear hub cap to explode off your passengers side of your tire and hurtle towards my chest. It has been some time since I almost made a skid mark in my pants.

The good news is the hub cap lost its momentum and fell well short of me, but if you've ever heard a hub cap explode off a tire you know how crazy and alarming it sounds.

Never witnessed that visually, but I can imagine. Those kinda moments my thoughts mirror Batty, from the movie "Ferngully."

That's one of the reasons you can't drive on a race track without removing your hubcaps.

I once saw a video of a lowrider competition where two cars were high-bouncing, & a trim ring had enough of that foolishness, launched off a wheel on touch-down, and clocked a spectator. Very impressive, it was.
