Yesterday I joined the ranks of the Modern Buddy owner, I am now the owner of a Blackjack!
Glad to see there's a forum!

Welcome. I just joined not too long ago. This forum is great for new scooter owners. Every question I wonder about is here in some for(u)m or another.
I went for the Italia 150, but the blackjack was my second choice.

enjoy it

I have actually been a Moped rider for the last few years. Earlier this year a buddy(no pun intended) rolled up on a PX150. Since then I have been shopping and shopping and shopping... There were about 5 models that I had narrowed it down to, but the Blackjack was the winner. :)

Welcome!

Did you test ride any of the other scoots you were considering? How did they stack up to the Black Jack?

And nice choice with the BJack by the way. Just remember, these things don't have pedals.... you no longer ride a moped

The Vespa and Piaggio 150s I hate to say it, did not thrill me at all in person. The only ones on my list I didn't get to try were the Honda SH150 and the SYM Symba. I did debate on the Stella, my buddy with the PX150 really wanted me to go 2 stroke...

I like that Genuine is local, Kenosha is just up the road from Chicago.
Upgraded brakes, suspension, exhaust.
Genuine incentives right now are fantastic, got the free windshield, rack, etc.
AND the Buddy is fun to ride!!!

Justy a couple of notes after my first full day of riding.

1- It is stalling or running at an extremely low idle when approaching stops. I have done some forum searching and am going to try adjusting the idle tomorrow.

2- The headlight is aimed quite low, I do not see any posts on headlamp adjustment. Did I miss it?

3- I did a little searching on this question and there doesn't seem to be any posts.... Any concerns about break in during 40-50 degree weather? Does breaking in the engine in the cold matter?

Welcome aboard, I'm just as new as you are. Good choice, I chose the same scoot.

There are a few posts in here about it, but here you go:

Park your scoot on level ground, 17 feet from a solid wall.
Sit on your scoot while its off the kick stand. Have someone measure the distance from the floor to the center of the headlight lens.
With the headlight on low beam, place a mark (piece of tape) on the wall two inches lower then the height that was measured to the center of your headlight lens.
The top of the headlight beam (should appear somewhat flat) should be up to that line (marked two inches down at 17 feet).
If not, loosen the bolt on the underside of the chrome headlight bezel just enough so that you can swing the bolt up towards you (this will raise the headlight). Looking at the mark on the wall, bring the top of the light up to your mark. Once lined up, tighten the bolt and double check your mark. Again, this should be done while you (or someone similar in weight) are seated on the scoot.

Excellent, thanks! Side note, it is an 8mm wrench.
