Justice served! Always a good thing! Here's hoping that there's enough money in he bank account to pay Scoot Richmond back all that was stolen and some damages too!

Not so much the technology as the arrogance and stupidity of the person using that technology.
If I were on the lam, why in the world would I let people know where I was via a social networking site. Even more daft: friending a random stranger... especially if you know that there's people out to get you (instead of just being paranoid like me).
Keep that in mind the next time you're facebooking late at night. Should you tell everyone you're "friends" with about that latest bout with shaving for this month? Probably not. Tell your "friends" where you're hiding your pot of gold? Absolutely! In fact, there's probably a survey for both of those that you haven't taken yet and sent to all your "friends" yet. You should get on that, you Faceslacker!
Hell, no, when I go on the lam I'm going to use social networking to confound the law by faking appearances all across the country. A l'il Photoshop, fake geotag the images… Have friends send my iPhone around the country and post fake Twitters. They'll never get me!
BTW, I will hypothetically be on the lam for a crime which I did not commit and which I am hoping to solve as I roam from town to town. It was the one armed man who did it!
