Goop!

Post by Major Redneck »

Goop! hand cleaner... i can not being to list all the uses for this product... here are a few,,, its the only thing iv found that will clean a seat on a scooter/motorcycle and not leave it greasy and slick... i have a 50+ year old vintage leather jacket that i clean using Goop! i wish i had taken before and after pic of the 78 chevy van that i cleaned the old "red" dash with it soaked it up after 4 heavy applacations and looks great... Goop! is the only thing that really works good on weatherstriping on auto's as well as all rubber product (tires)... i use Goop! instead of handcream/facecream,,, granny used it on her cracked feet after a while it was better... i use it on my leather gloves,,, it will lube a zipper... cleans tools,,, use it on stains in laundry... works on wood,,, my daughter uses it on her pocketbooks,,, cleans shoes!!! even cloth/nylon/canves/leather/rubber sneakers,,, cleans plastic without leaving a mess...

its cheap,,, comes in all kind of sizes you can find it at alot of places,,, no my vintage jacket does not soap up and bubbles fly off on the car behind me when it rains... its not a soap... it does not work good on glass is the only thing iv found it well not clean and not leave a greazy slick mess afterwards....

wipe or brush it on,,, i use a toothbrush to get into the cracks,,, let it sit for 10-15 mins the buff dry... thats it after u buff it might look and feel somewhat slick but in 15 mins that drys up and goes away...

My high school boyfriend got me using Goop. We would work on our bicycles on Saturdays and if our hands and nails were not clean for church on Sunday we got all kinds of grief from our mothers.
.
Just a dab of Goop and the grease was gone.
.
Unfortunately, it does nothing for raggedy fingernails, but at least they were clean.

(The periods are placeholders, for some reason my Blackberry does not keep empty carriage returns. No extraneous punctuation here.)

Great tips about Goop--I'll have to give some of them a try.

In the same vein, here are some tips about Bounce:

1. It will chase ants away when you lay a sheet near them. It also repels mice.
2. Spread sheets around foundation areas, or in trailers, or cars that are sitting and it keeps mice from entering your vehicle.
3. It takes the odor out of books and photo albums that don’t get opened too often.
4. It repels mosquitoes. Tie a sheet of Bounce through a belt loop when outdoors during mosquito season.
5. Eliminate static electricity from your television (or computer) screen.
6. Since Bounce is designed to help eliminate static cling, wipe your television screen with a used sheet of Bounce to keep dust from resettling.
7. Dissolve soap scum from shower doors. Clean with a sheet of Bounce.
8. To freshen the air in your home – Place an individual sheet of Bounce in a drawer or hang in the closet.
9. Put Bounce sheet in vacuum cleaner.
10. Prevent thread from tangling. Run a threaded needle through a sheet of Bounce before beginning to sew.
11. Prevent musty suitcases. Place an individual sheet of Bounce inside empty luggage before storing.
12. To freshen the air in your car – Place a sheet of Bounce under the front seat.
13. Clean baked-on foods from a cooking pan. Put a sheet in a pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.
14. Eliminate odors in wastebaskets. Place a sheet of Bounce at the bottom of the wastebasket.
15. Collect cat hair. Rubbing the area with a sheet of Bounce will magnetically attract all the loose hairs.
16. Eliminate static electricity from Venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet of Bounce to prevent dust from resettling.
17. Wipe up sawdust from drilling or sand papering. A used sheet of Bounce will collect sawdust like a tack cloth.
18. Eliminate odors in dirty laundry. Place an individual sheet of Bounce at the bottom of a laundry bag or hamper.
19. Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet of Bounce in your shoes or sneakers overnight.
20. Golfers put a Bounce sheet in their back pocket to keep the bees away.
21. Put a Bounce sheet in your sleeping bag and tent before folding and storing them. It will keep them smelling fresh.
22. Put a Bounce sheet in your safe to keep it from smelling musty.

Does it have to be Bounce or will other dryer sheets work?

No clue. I would imagine they all would, but some of the other sheets are lets sticky so they may not work as good, I'm thinking. :D

I tried soaking a generic Target dryer sheet in a pan overnight. It kind of worked, but I can't attribute any of it to the dryer sheet. It may have just been from soaking the pan in water. More research needed. May need to pick up a box of Bounce on my weekly Target run this afternoon.

Things I would also like Bounce to do:
Drop a sheet in the cat litter!
Put Bounce in your shoes before you put them on. You will weigh less, look taller and thinner, and be able to slam dunk.
Chew one up in the morning and swallow it. You will be irresistibly charming for the next 8 hours.
Wipe your scooter down with Bounce and your MPGs will increase, top speed will go up 15mph, and you will smoke Ninja 250s off the line.
Rub a lottery ticket with Bounce. A winner every time!
Etc.

Somewhere there's a secret forum for idle billionaires and this topic came up. "Hey, Mortimer26, what do you use to keep your cash and bond notes smelling so fresh?"

LOL! I can't say that I've tried all the items I listed that Bounce does, but I have tried a couple. Putting Bounce in your safe does help with the musty smell, as does leaving one in your car.

I usually get a couple of dryer uses from each one (can't necessarily do that with a no-name dryer sheet), so I had a few used ones laying around. I put them in our shoes as there was a bit of an odiferous emination coming from the shoe area.

TMI, I'm sure!
