LOL! You guys crack me up!

As for the engine stuffing. Absolutely it's possible! Maybe not practical, but you get a machine shop in on it and you're in business.

That being said... if all you want from it is the engine, you might have missed the point of the Blur altogether. The big seller is the suspension and brakes. It really is a surprisingly competent handling bike. Besides, it'd probably be easier to try and fit the plastics from a Buddy onto the Blur chassis.

Either way, good luck! You do of course realize that you'd be obligated to post a picture story on the process, success or failure, right?

Not at all LMC, I love the look and performance of the blur even the orange was alright with me. Had it been at the shop I bought at, I woud be a Blur owner. It just seemed at the time the Rat was an easier choice as far as availability, and it's an absolute blast.
Now I've been teased with a larger displacement Blur, that is has a nicer color scheme, and I can't wait.

As far as the op goes, anything is possible with the right tools and the right money, but I gotta agree with LMC on this, it's sems like alot of work and money when you could easily just buy the scoot, and have both.

I was just trying to be funny  .

I'm not in love with the styling myself. The color is cool. The engine displacement is intriguing.

Hehe, I was referring to the "soon" part.

And for the most part, I was just being funny as well.

I was completely serious about making a picture story if this is attempted. :D

as much as i try to resist pimping another forum i will this time. the guys on totalruckus laugh when someone says "will it fit". somehow they make it fit. a hand full of guys are putting a elite 250cc into a metro. blows my mind. i think it would be amazing to have the blur 220 in a buddy frame and plastic. anything is possible. you would need to do quite a bit of fab and wrench time but the result would be sweeet.
no i don't ride a scooter, i am a scooter pilot!

The 220cc Blur is a GY6 motor... It'd be fairly easy. Definately not a good idea though. My 161cc is dangerously fast on the little Buddy frame. I can't even fathom the trouble I'd get into with a 220!

I happen to know of someone who built a 235cc GY6 on a Buddy frame, and said it was nearly unridable. The tiniest throttle movement resulted in a wheelie.

Those Ruckus folks build some really wicked machines. They also have deeper pockets than just about any other enthusiast biker out there. It's nothing for them to make a $2000 scooter a $10,000 scooter and then sell it for next to nothing just to build a new one. I think it's a little less about riding than it is building. And they're really damn good at building!

Now as far as this Blur Buddy thing. The frames a lot beefier on the Blur than the Buddy. I say make a retro looking Blur. The Buddy frame is pretty petite. Anyone got a pic of nekid Buddy? I'll post a Blur shot later on (at work atm).

Side by side there's a HUGE difference.

It'll hold it. Like I said, I know of a 235cc Buddy. Its just a bit insane. If I had endless cash to throw at my bike I'd likely try it.... But I'm not a member of Totalruckus. :P Though they build some wicked little Honda's!
Some of their Metro cutdowns are pretty wicked too.

Anyone want to sponsor a 220cc Buddy build? :P

100% agree. money is a huge factor. it does seem that they have unlimited funding. they have build threads where they post every mod, every part and ups and downs of the build. when i look at the list of parts and how fast they come in...its crazy. kaos is right though. just because you can doesn't mean you should.

having said that. this is a link to the ultimate crazy. some f-words and some great pic included. 14 pages but one crazy build.

I wouldn't be shocked to see this in 2011. (I have no info on this; purely conjecture.)

Oddly, I kind of like the blue. Not so much the swoosh on the side, though.

I was holding out for the 220i. I'd still be interested in one. However, until I see it at my dealer, all I could really do was speculate and wait.

...to see the price tag. If it's a lot more than a Kawasaki Ninja 250R, it'll be a tough sell in the USA. Still, the Blur 220i is an exciting scooter to dream about, isn't it?
