has anyone heard of or seen this?

i don't see any genuine models listed as one of the compatible models, but the video is of the genuine rattler with the front-wheel attachment. this looks pretty fun.

It's been posted once before and I'd love to get my hands on one. It's rumored to be between $500-$800 though, which may be a couple hundred out of my price range :(

So fun, As the ever safety conscious I want it noted that he is never going so fast that he can't just put his leg down to steady the scoot.

Gotta do what you can in Canada to ride though.

I honestly don't understand how this thing keeps the tire from sliding out from under the you. Just doesn't make sense to me....

its a low presure tire so it squats out even more to give you a bit wider base
and its studed not as agressive as an ice racing bike but it is studed

The long foot print of the ski keeps the bike tracking straight along with adding stability in the form of a larger, flatter contact surface, momentum and the low pressure wheel (flattens the contact surface) do the rest.

It's a lot like how the original Hummer has an inflate/deflate system on the tires so you can widen the tread if you get stuck in mud or snow. The tire has less pressure and, therefore, a wider tread. This, combined with the big studs on the tire and the ski up front create a pretty good system, but I'd still keep the speeds down a bit and have my legs ready to steady myself at any given moment.
