They wouldn't be the first. In 1980, two Vespa PX200s (modified) finished the rally! (Five started the rally…)

I just wish there had been better TV coverage. 30 minute highlight show each night on VS wasn't enough for me.

If I could get a scoot here in Iraq I wouls soup it up, bolt on armor plate and mount the bullet proof glass out of an MRAP turret. Who knows, if I could make it to Kuwait I might be able to catch a flight home. Now all I need to do is convince my CO that it is a good idea.

Any ideas on how to mount a .50 cal on a Bajaj????

I'd like to see 30 minutes of anything on Versus, stupid Comcast/DirectTV feud.

And of course it's the season the Blackhawks are actually good!

Amazing!

Looking at this, it appears that even spectators aren't safe at Dakar. One killed, many injured, a helicopter downed… wow.

I just read about a Swedish rider who leapt to safety as her bike fell inside a 16' deep tomb. They got a helicopter to pull it out.

I say we modify a Blur 220i for Dakar—Team MB. New forks and suspension, bigger knobby tires, seal all the body panels to keep sand out. Who's going to ride it? :)

I concur, and we'll definitely need Genuine to fly down there as advisors, but my butt hurts after an hour or two, so we definitely need a better rider. Get on the horn with McCaleb and make this happen.

Go with a 2WD Ural instead. Machine gun mounts are available as an off the shelf part.

Hmm… last to arrive for group rides… last to have all his gear on when we leave… I don't know Skootz… You know this is a race, right? :twisted:

ew, ouch, nice Eric :P But... who plans the longest rides and is always dragging the others along with him for more? When I ride, I friggin' ride! Balls out, WOT, non-stop, sleep optional... this is an endurance test, so being a little manic is a plus :)

I know how we could do it... take the lifted off-road version of the Blur, cut off everything you don't need, give it to Kaos, djelliot, & Lostmycage to tinker with, then put a Helix seat on it. 8)

Twitter finally pays off!
@philipmccaleb @scooterism
I'm guessing the fight will be over who drives it. BB or Ericalm??? I'd be down with that.
