How to hook up the "dummy" turn signals?
How do I hook up the "dummy" turn signals so they work? The Buddy game with them disabled from the factory.

No... at worst it could void the electrical system warranty. But this is a pretty easily reversible mod and one that would likely do nothing but blow a fuse or run your battery down.Stormswift wrote:I love the idea of running lights. I do have a question though. Does this invalidate the warranty? Do I have to wait out the 2 years before I can install it?
If your shop knew you did the mod and just didn't like you they could be a pain about it if there was a problem (the dealer/shop are the ones who interface with Genuine for warranty work and can help you a lot) but that's not likely!!

To those that are wondering whether or not this will void your warranty, as mentioned above, check with your dealer. All of my adapters are available to them at wholesale cost. Most dealer installed accessories do not void the warranty.

How to hook up the "dummy" turn signals
I can attest to the fool proofedness
of the BOB adapters Lil Buddy sells. I have installed one of them on both of my Buddys. They are awesome, and they don't affect the lighting in any negative way what-so-ever. Having used them, I wouldn't have a Buddy without them, for the conspicuity they add!
...that, and the back-off brake light adapter...which is a little more time intensive to install, but there's a link showing install pictures of that too if you are looking for different conspicuity enhancements. topic13226.html
Now, if I could just figure out how to get better conspicuity lighting going on with Max (my MP3) I'd be a happy camper!

Is that a challange? How many watts are those front blinkers? They would look sweet as running lights / blinkersmichelle_7728 wrote:Now, if I could just figure out how to get better conspicuity lighting going on with Max (my MP3) I'd be a happy camper!

If you ever find yourself down in T-town, I'd love to tear into Max and see whats possible.

The market for a GTS deadlight conversion would be huge!Lil Buddy wrote:Is that a challange? How many watts are those front blinkers? How is that Black Jack treating you? Have you added under scooter lighting yet?

Sorry to hijack your post Emerson. If you still have questions, check the Technical Forum. You will find a few different methods of activating the deadlights.
The Black Jack is awesome though I have only put 120 miles on her. Kinda hard to carry around all of my home remodel tools on a 220lb scooter. And my commute from Tacoma to GRCC for my night class is a bit of a drive.
Not sure if I'm going to install the glow lights on this one. I put them on my old 50 cuz I was bored and had never seen it done before. Aside from taking some photos, I never actually used them while driving. But who knows, if I find myself riding the B-Jack alot at night when the weather clears up, I may just have to do it again.
