I am entertaining the idea of painting my clutch cover black
What do you guys think, I hate that it doesn't match and I'm bored
Silver

I like the black but then I's want to paint the forks black and the rimes red.

Silver gives it a "metal" look which I like. Black seems like a cover up for some cheaper material. I vote silver.

Worried about this on a plastic scooter?

Tough call. They both look good and have pros and cons. The silver does tie in with the wheels... would the black paint require more maintenance than the silver? How would it hold up to being hit with rocks and other road debris? Would it fast become chipped and unsightly?

I really like the look of black and would like to do this also but here in Florida I wonder if this will add to a quicker wear of the belt and rollers due to extra heat.
Maybe the added heat will be inconsequential, i dont know?

Oops, I cast my vote before I read your post and saw the pictures. I was thinking you were wanting us to vote for a black or a silver Buddy.
After seeing your pictures, I would change my vote to silver. The black seems kind of overwhelming to me in this case. Seems to cover up the wheel too much, though obviously it's the same size. Maybe a better way to put it (IMO) would be to say that it blends in with the tire and makes it all one blob of color...less attractive than having the silver there and the definite shape of the tire behind it.
Just my 2 cents.

I voted silver. And I ALWAYS like things in black, but I think the silver is a good contrast

Cut some holes in it for better air flow. Then paint it black. Paint a bit of red in the cut outs, and the bell.

If you have ever done that you would know that the clutch makes hellish noises that can make one paranoid

I was thinking about it. Maybe I should re-think that. I think it looks cool but don't think I want the extra noise. I still think black would look cool for your ride.

I voted black. Flat black, maybe. I don't know if black wall tires are an option. I think all black tires would complement your newly painted part.
