Test Video: Buddy Italia 150 Short Ride
This is just a test to see how well I can film while riding...

So, does it have promise?

I don't know if I'd post video proof that I ran every stop sign that I came across. Otherwise, it looks great... although I did stop watching after the second stop sign got blown through.
That aside, I am curious about the camera mounting and model. Seems pretty stable and it doesn't appear to be a helmet cam.

It's a little mount I made that you can wear around your neck out of a wire clothes hanger with padding to make it more comfortable. I cut the wire down to size so that the camera hung at the right height and is flat on my chest, pointing straight ahead.Lostmycage wrote:I don't know if I'd post video proof that I ran every stop sign that I came across. A short camera strap would work too but most straps are quite long and the lens tends to hang downward. Works better than a helmet cam I think.

That's pretty inventive. How does it attach to the camera? Any chance you'd be willing to snap a pic of this set-up?phuocsandiego wrote: It's a little mount I made that you can wear around your neck out of a wire clothes hanger with padding to make it more comfortable. It seems to be pretty stable, one of the better views I've seen of a recorded ride.

it's dangerous by any name. please respect the stop signs - they aren't there just for your sake.[email protected] wrote:its a california roll not the sushi kindAnachronism wrote:Around here, they ticket riders who do not put their foot down at a stop, even if stopped and balanced on the bike.
But those, those, weren't even close.
nevermind, just realized you replied already:
so you're just a callous ass who thinks stop signs are a mere inconvenience? it isn't a stop unless you bring your vehicle to 0 mph...phuocsandiego wrote:LOL... I went through those stop signs much quicker than I normally do but using pretty much the same motion... the rolling stop. I do the same in the car. Normally though, it is much slower than the video and I've never had a problem in 20 years in my area.

That was a rather nice video, I am waiting on my RAM camera base to come in i hope it is half as stable.
i would also like to see pics of your setup if you can snap some.

That looks very nice... I'm going to play with my jerry-rigged version for a while and see how it works out long term but the RAM mount looks great.nateandcourt wrote:That was a rather nice video, I am waiting on my RAM camera base to come in i hope it is half as stable.

The "mount" (if you can call it that) hooks through the eye holes where the camera straps go in. No need to remove the strap at all (as you can see on my Canon 5D2 shots). The wire is key though as it keeps it from bouncing all around. Placed against your chest while riding makes it super stable... your body bobbing up and down almost acts like a Steadicam or something.Lostmycage wrote:That's pretty inventive. Anyways, I made another video with it (plus a pic that shows how it looks without the padding). I was just walking around the garage with this video... you can see the Vespa, the Lexus and the Buddy.
