Hi guys,
I recently damaged my Buddy 50 (cracked headlight casing, loose right brake lever). What would be a reasonable price range to get this fixed? My Buddy is still very rideable... (I'm just worried that when the winter comes, the crack in the casing will grow).
I'm sorta new to this repair thing (this is my first accident!), so I'm trying to find a fair price for repairs. Its still under the two-year warranty - my accident happened while I was stopped at a stop sign on a roadway that had a very steep incline (I couldn't stop my buddy from falling over).
Thanks for all your help!

Well that kind of damage won't be repaired under warranty. But that part shouldn't cost too much to replace. If you're worried about the crack growing you could repair the panel yourself, just sand the inside with rough 120 grit sandpaper to make it rough. Buy some 30 minute epoxy and woven fiberglass cloth available from a hobby store or website. Use some wide plastic tape to tape together the crack from the outside so epoxy doesn't get all over the place. Spread a fairly thick layer of some mixed epoxy over the back ensuring it fills the crack, then lay down 3 precut pieces of fiberglass about 3 inches wide and pour more epoxy over that and spread it around and force it through the fiberglass with an old credit card or gift card. Getting rid of air bubbles is important for strength, let dry and voila permanently repaired part. Sand down and primer and paint the outside and it'll be completely invisible. Or just use duct tape on the back and fill the crack with crazy glue gel, that works too but is a little more brittle. If you'd like to attempt this I'd be more than happy to guide you through the repairs with this post.

buddy repair
take it to your dealer to have it checked out, have the parts needed ordered. would be a shame to take a nice scooter go to duct tape and epoxy land so soon. bite the bullet... it shouldn't cost too much to have repaired properly, and you'll feel much better about it when you have to look at it every day.
scoot on!
