Who has Painted their Buddy?
I wanted to paint racing stripes on my buddy and I was wondering how everyone else’s experience was? More specifically I wanted the know what kind of paint was used, how did you go about prepping the surface, how you think it turned out (does the shine of the paint match the same finish of the buddy), and hopefully any close up pictures of your work. I know there has been some talk about how one goes about painting their buddy so I would like to focus more on the finished product. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Several of us have used Krylon Fusion with pretty good success, it's made for use on plastics and doesn't require a lot of prep. At least the one I used didn't come out glossy like the original plastic, if you want that you'll need a clear gloss coat on top of the color. I used the Krylon clear for that.
When I did the front shield on mine, the only prep I did was removing the part, cleaning with windex, and making sure it was dust/debris free. I did several coats, following the instructions on the can for dry time etc.

I used Krylon Fusion too. I wet sanded my parts before I painted them just to rough it up a bit.
I haven't done it to mine but you may want to think about using vinyl for the stripes. Any vinyl place will cut them for you and it's not that expensive. Plus most shop have some interesting color options. Though about putting a diamond plate stripes on my buddy or even doing a carbon fiber cover of all the body parts just to be different.
