I've been meaning to check and adjust my valves if needed. I know you need to do this with a stone cold motor but is it too cold for this?
Nights are in the low 20's and daytime highs are in the 40's right now. Scooter's parked in a garage.

I googled this looking for advice from mechanics in Canada and Alaska. I found some pretty amusing posts, but he best advice I found was to put a heater in your garage to keep your fingers thawed enough to handle tools.

^^^ Correct, professional tech. here. The bike is fine, as long as you can do it.
I helped a friend replace a U joint on a truck once in 6 degrees. You start dropping tools because you can't feel your hands.
Speed is only a matter of money...How fast do you want to go?

The main thing to remember is to not put your tongue on the engine while it is below freezing
. Other than that, it will be okay.

Okay, okay. I get the point!
Thanks guys.
I was just concerned that if it were too cold, the metal would be contracted even more than "normal" and the valves would then be loose in warmer temps.
