Hey all, I attempted changing the engine oil on Luna's buddy earlier but did not have the right size socket for the oil filter on me.
I just wanted to make sure as to what is the correct procedure for draining, I am not clear whether I should unscrew the filter and drain from there or if there is another spot for draining that I am missing.
The earlier Buddys have a filter, a regular drain bolt, and a third bolt that incorporates a screen filter. Not sure if the 170i has the same case. But it's less messy to drain the crankcase first with the drain bolts, then pull the filter.

I managed to find it after some tinkering, the position of the oil filter had me looking in the wrong places but eventually we located it and Luna's buddy is good to go
Yeah, I now remember that the 170 has its oil cooler mounted much farther forward, which _should_ make it easier to change the filter, unless the battery box or some such is in the way. Glad it worked out.
