Newbie!! I have a Bud 50 2008.. has 75 miles.. carb all cleaned; etc.. etc.. when you give it a little throttle starts right up... idles o.k. starts off/ forward o.k. then when you give it more throttle it starts to stumble..if you keep throttle full on it will work through the stumble period then go like mad... Also can anyone till me what the air/fuel mix screw intial set adjustment is ? As you can see by the mileage the scoot sat for a long time.. I put in new battery; plug and I removed carb.. and cleaned ALL ports/passages; etc.. main jet was plugged from varnishing; etc.. I'm not new to carbs and the Buddy carb is pretty straight forward. When I removed air/fuel mix screw it was adjusted at 2 1/2 turns from seat position; which seems a lot for this application. I have searched web for carb adjustment with no luck..thanks in advance on this...

Since you've run it a bit since your rebuild, why don't you pull the plug and take a look and see if it looks too lean or too rich. I don't have this particular scoot & carb, but if I recall correctly, it's pretty easy to adjust without removing the carb from the bike. This would let you play around with the mixture a bit, and it sounds like you already know the 'starting' position.
The service manual, found in the FAQs and Guides forum, might have some insights.
But if you've got a low-speed stumble, it may mean that even though you cleaned up the main jet pretty well, the idle/low speed jet might be a bit gunky still. Sounds like it's admitting enough gas to idle, but not enough to get off the line. I don't have a feel for where the jets hand off to one another, but it may be worth a look if you rule out the adjustment screw.
And before anyone else says it, 'Seafoam!
j/k

This may or may not be relevent, so take it for what it's worth. When I got my first Buddy (a 50), it had the same symptom. After looking at the usual suspects, the dealer suggested the following. Remove the plastic cap from the top of the auto choke. Seems that sometimes the choke, which has a coil that heats up, may turn off too quickly. By removing the cap, you "fool" the choke into staying on longer. Totally resolved my issues and remaind off until I traded up to a Black Jack. Check jets and mixture first, If all else fails, try it. Also, check your plug when first doing this as you don't want to run a 2 stroke too rich. Good luck.

If my Buddy sits for too long or if it's below around 35-40 degrees then it does this until I run it for a bit and it gets good and warmed up. If it continues to do this after it warms up then I'd adjust the air/fuel mix until it sounds like it's idling a bit high. This seems to have fixed my issues and it was very easy to do. I didn't worry about the number of turns I just did it by sound.
