I say I'm going to go every year... then don't. Maybe this year. It would be fun to meet up with a bunch of MB members. If anyone in LA area wants to work out a truck or something to haul scoots to LV, let's talk about it!
Viva Las Vegas!
High Rollers Weekend 2008
All On The Line
February 14th-18th, 2008
Ladies and Gentlemen and scooterists of all ages (over 21) prepare yourself
for a very different Vegas Rally! This year, it is time for you and your
scooter club to put it all on the line. This High Rollers will have a weekend
full of competitions between all the clubs in attendance, and the wining club
will receive $1000 of cold hard cash. Of course there will be the normal rides,
events and evening dos, and the usual mad cap fun of Vegas!
General Info
The rally is open to everyone and there will be things to make it great for
all attendees. To start off the hotel we will be staying at is the Ellis Island
Casino/Super 8. It has the best elements of the Gold Spike and Gold Coast
combined… plus more! The rally will have various Vegas fun and evening of music
and dancing. About half of the weekend will be the club competitions in which
everyone can compete. Sunday we will have the awards, gymkhana, wheelie
competition, raffle and the announced winning scooter club of the High Rollers
Weekend 2008. Full listing of events will be released through the website on
Thursday November 1st.
Hotel and Casino
The hotel we are staying in is the Ellis Island Casino/Super 8, a small, very
cool hidden gem. There are only 300 rooms in this hotel-style layout with
adjoining casino and parking garage, and we will probably book more than half of
the rooms. We have discounted room rates and dedicated scooter parking with
half all the hotel rooms over looking the scooters. The Casino has cheap GOOD
food (last of the $4.99 steak dinners) and $1 micro brew beer. It also has free
internet, free airport shuttle and 24 hour pool and hot tub. It has both a cool
retro lounge and large bar for your drinking pleasures and a full casino with
all the table games. Our guess is that these areas will be filled with
scooterists all weekend long. The Hotel/Casino is an awesome location, 1 block
off the strip on Flamingo Blvd. behind Bally's, so it near some other great
casinos and the strip tram line too. Without a doubt this will be our best
hotel ever!
The Discount Room Rate is $80 per night for the rally. You can call to
reserve your room or use this Fax Form
(http://highrollersweekend.com/reservation.html). When calling tell them the
discount code: HIGH ROLLERS. Any problems, ask for hotel sales manager James.

It is important to book your room ASAP because there is limited space on this
busy Presidents Day Weekend. The hotel WILL sellout, so the question is, how
soon. Please just book your rooms now!!!!
The Scooter Club Competition
This competition is meant to add some fun to this High Rollers Weekend; it is
Vegas you know! This is the only US rally that truly draws clubs from around
the USA and beyond. The competition is not meant to exclude anyone, nor limit
people from competing. This is a way to bring club members together and see how
good they really are. It is quite possible that even a small group of 3 or 4
people could win this competition and it is not meant to put any clubs at odds
with each, so save your grief for home. Those people not in a scooter club are
still are able compete as "No Scooter Club". This will be fully explained on
the website.
The competition will be 8-10 events with winners receiving points for each
event. The club with the most totaled points between all its members and all the
events at the end of the weekend wins the $1000. Each event will be hosted and
judged by 1 or 2 scooter clubs or scooter organizations. 8-10 events may seem
like a lot to do, but we honestly don't expect clubs to compete in all of them.
Realistically the club that wins only 3 or 4 events will most likely take home
the cash, so round up the ringers in your club and bring them to Vegas. Several
of the events are being finalized now, so keep your eye on the website for full
details, explanations, and event listings. If your club/organization is
interested in hosting an event, please email Eric Porter.
