Missing pictures

Post by Syd »

Ericalm,
Yesterday I posted to the Weekend Challenge thread in the Gallery. Later in the day I was showing the boss what I'd done but couldn't see the pictures. Bummer, I thought. So I logged in to my account and re-edited my post, including the pics as img tags instead of attachments.

Then this morning I was checking for more Weekend Challenge posts and noticed that I couldn't see pcbikedude's fire pictures. So I logged in and there they were again.

Must we be logged in to our MB accounts in order to see pictures which are added to a post as an attachment? I'm not complaining, I just curious.

Thanks for all you do for this board, Ericalm. I lurk in several scooter boards out there, and this is most consistently the best I've found. I wish my feet weren't so big, or I'd have me a little Buddy too <g>.

Hmm, Syd, as an experiment, I logged out just now and viewed your pix in that thread with no problem. I don't know if anything has changed since when you tried it or not. Dunno... Eric?

Check out pcbikedude's post below mine. He has some pictures posted of some of the fires butning in the San Diego area. Search the thread for this: Some really cool picture ladies and gents. That post has 6 pictures in it.

Got it now. You're totally right. It appears that the photos which are uploaded to Modern Buddy don't appear if you are not logged in. Interesting. I'd never noticed that before.

I tried to view mine last night at work and even logged in, they weren't there. Others were, but not mine. Then I got home and tried again and they were there. Dunno what's happening...

Uhhh... Weird.
I'll look in the site settings, but I haven't changed anything like that. Maybe I'll see if the same thing happens on MV.

It seems pretty common on most forums that one needs to be a registered user in order to see pics (or anything else) that have been added as attachments.

Only registered users can see the attachments. It's the way the phpBB Attachment Mod was coded.

Yep, and the Admin won't allow me to toggle that. Unless I want to do some PHP coding, which is something I should probably not mess with. ;)
