Pretty sure its PGO BuBu there. And here is a vid I found of a nice ride along the Italian coast to compliment the thread.Tam Tam wrote:So, tonite I was looking thru a travel blog about Italy and under the heading "Scooters in Rome", the only pic was this : (It goes by different names, but we all know it as BUDDY!!!) Man, I'm glad they're called Buddy here...Ligero is a cool name for them, but Bubu? You're just asking to be clowned when people ask you what you ride.
What cool scenery and riding on that video! But wow, I have to admit that the music was most def not 2010 - If I closed my eyes, I'd swear I was watching "Buckaroo Banzai". But who watches scooter vids for the music?

I don't think they're called BuBu anywhere outside Asia.Tam Tam wrote:Scooters? In Italy? No way!![]()

PGO sells other vehicles in Italy; not sure about scooters.

cool pic. I have been to Europe 3 times post scooter owning and never saw a PGO Ligero/Buddy. And believe me I was looking real hard. I have to say I think it would be brutal to be in Rome with those little wheels. the streets were paved in huge cobblestones. I saw more little wheeled Vespas in Spain than in Italy.

Maybe they have chinese knockoffs of them in Europe like we have knockoffs of other things here?? Idkk1dude wrote:I only saw one Buddy or BuBu fly past me in Rome. That was it. I was scouring Italy for them, but only saw the one going by briefly. Since it was moving, I didn't get to read any of the markings.

Honda is by far the biggest seller in Italy. The SH300 is the best selling scooter in Europe.

The honda would be one hell of a scooter. WE have the Kymco People GT 300i available to us! Yes the price is steep, but Im not sure why it hasnt caught on. Ive heard the ergonomics are funky, and Ive never sat or rode on one. Still, the power of that Kymco is impressive. I guess that BV350 at the same price range F's the Kymco up a bit. Im curious to see how the BV350's hold up now that a few are on the road. We will see.ericalm wrote:Honda is by far the biggest seller in Italy. The SH300 is the best selling scooter in Europe.
