never mind, found it!batgirl101 wrote:i cannot seem to find pics of these mirrors--yes even with the link. i'm lame..HowHH wrote:I've seen similar, but can't say if identical, mirrors on Ebay. So you may want to check it out if you think those may never come in.
However, you may want to consider the Yamaha C3 mirrors (this thread viewtopic.php?p=273321#273321). They look pretty good, although maybe not as slick as the ones you covet. However, they are pretty inexpensive and offer great side and rearward vision.

i kept my first 2 scooters stock, but with Max, i'm adding everything i possibly can to achieve the look and performance suited to my aggressive riding style. i'm really having fun with this project, btw who knew there were a zazillion mirrors to chose from??Stormswift wrote:This year it is only GPS Mount and a low profile seat (back ordered). I like keeping all mechanical parts "stock"

Here are the pictures Eric requested.Scalpel wrote:
- Added a black kickstand from Scooterworks for times when I need to only hop off for a second.
- Added a rear rack. It turns out this 2-stroke-only rack will work on the 4-stroke Stella, if you disassemble half the emissions tubing and wiring, install a taller seat post, remove the entire seat, and hit the front part of the rack a lot with a big rubber mallet. All's well that ends well, I suppose.
- Attached the Seahorse 540 case from my previous scooter onto the new rack, including some work with silicone tub sealant to make sure the bolt holes are completely waterproof.
- Drilled the top of the Seahorse box in order to add a Rotopax lockable mounting plate for a 1-gallon Rotopax gas can. I bought one can and two mounting kits, so I can switch the gas can between my scooter and my motorcycle. 1 gallon of spare fuel on the Stella is going to stretch a long way!
- Peeled off the side reflectors, since they were slowly falling off on their own.

Luna,
There's an old anecdotal story in my field of Operations Research, a field usually thought of as time-and-motion studies. It seems a team from a WWII aircraft manufacturer had an aircraft in a hangar, and when battle-scarred planes returned from missions, the team would make marks on the hangar plane corresponding to bullet holes on the actual warbirds. The OR guy asks what they were doing, and they respond that they're making sure they reinforce the spots that were likely to get hit by the enemy. The OR guy thinks for a second, and says, "reinforce everything _but_ the bullethole spots -- those are the planes that didn't come back".
So consider buying the same gear you had before, because even though they took a bullet for you, they got you home alive.

The cheapy jacket is by no means permanent... I haven't received property compensation yet, so I'm working with less money than I'd like. I figure when I get money for another awesome jacket the cheapy one can be my crap or lightweight jacket. The helmet is a fantastic deal and a more reputable brand than I had before (Scorpion), as well as a lighter, more visible color- the gloves are new, vs the falling apart, hand-me-down Corazzo gloves I happened to be wearing that day. Aside from the cheapy jacket and the addition of knee/shin guards or armored pants, I believe I'm stepping up.
Edit because... spelling.

thanks LunaP! since i've never done mods on my other scooters, this is turning out to be such fun. it's a gorgeous day in the Bay Area, my club mate and i are going to ride to Napa. too bad i have to take the Vespa, it's about a 90 minute freeway ride and i don't want to push Max that hard.LunaP wrote:You, ma'am, have a HOT bike. I put a pair of those on my Blackjack last month (thank you Eric). Nice change in the ride, I must say. And, I think solid black tires look badass with the red rims.ericalm wrote:Another convert!jijifer wrote:gonna try the K61s. need new brakes. if I get the ncy big brake then my voodoo is complete!

Upgrades before riding season?..... I never STOPPED riding since last summer (Daily commute from Queens to Manhattan)... I was lucky this winter in NYC as there was only 1 major snow storm but as far as rain/cold...my upgrades were $10.99 rain suit and Scooter Skirt from overseas ($35 on ebay)... for spring I think i'll upgrade to a bumper sticker that says.. Poor buddy has had a hard life this past winter...so maybe will treat to a nice wash, some wax...but thats it...Ride it till the wheels fall off.

hah! i ride all year as well, of course our temps are much more reasonable than yours. Regarding scooter skirts, i used to say *I'd sooner chew off my foot than wear that weird looking thing*, however I've recently become a fan. on a ride to the coast this weekend i was freezing so my club mate loaned me hers--that's all it took!elaponte wrote:Upgrades before riding season?.....
