I went out to go for a ride today and couldn't get my Grip-Lock off, and I'm super frustrated! The key is supposed to turn 90 degrees and the lock pops open. Today the key only turns about 50 degrees and is virtually impossible to get it the rest of the way. I've sprayed WD40 into the lock and it didn't help. Any advice?? I really don't want to have to break it, as I'm sure it would take forever.
This is the lock http://www.grip-lock.com/
Thanks in advance.

Try graphite powder. It's the best lubricant for locking mechanisms and you can find it at hardware stores near the key cutting station.
Also try to squeeze the mechanism together as you're working the locking mechanism. It will relieve any tension that might be causing some parts to stick.
Good luck.
Additional note, it's good practice to apply graphite powder to all key cylinders that are frequently used every year or two. It can make your door lock act like new.

I just was looking at this thread in Modern Vespa, and on page 2 some one posted: I've noticed that, when the lock cylinder of mine is not kept lubricated, it sometimes will feel like it has locked when I push the button in, but it actually hasn't. This will give false security, as the button can easily be pulled back out and the lock removed unless the lock has actually engaged.
I've gotten into the habit of keeping mine lubricated, and giving a tug on the key after locking it to make sure it has engaged.
Is it possible that it's not locked, but you think it is?
I had a Givi top case that I used to fight with removing the key once it was locked...only to find that meant (after 5-10 minutes of hassling with it) that the top case wasn't locked.
