Buddy 125 fork oil wt?

Post by dana »

Sorry if this is a repost, but after searching a while I couldn't find what I needed ...

Can someone please give me the fork oil weight and volume for my Buddy 125? It's about due for some love, and with the addition of a new rear shock it's a little unbalanced. I did see reference to a fork rebuild how-to on MB, but couldn't find that, either.

And for you high performance guys ... anyone set sag on a Buddy? If so, what numbers are you shooting for?

Thx

10W20; 80 CC in each side.

Have you checked out the service manual? Might be useful if you're race tuning this Buddy. :)

Thanks! 10W20 is odd. Don't know many multi-weight fork oils. I'll go with a good 20W, maybe figure out a small shim to increase preload, then report back.

Nah, not race tuning ... just ride the $hit out of the thing. Although it has been know to take spirited "sighting laps" at night on race weekends. :D

It's got a pipe, cylinder, ported head, variator and clutch. A solid runner for torque, but not high strung. A great scooter to ride ... I really like it.
