switching interior panels

Post by robtaylor »

i know there has been a lot of discussion about the ability to switch out interior panels, and i know a few people have had there dealers do it for them. i am wondering has anyone here removed the panels themselves?
i am actually wanting to paint the interior panels but a couple pieces look pretty complicated to remove (like the bottom side of the handlebars). just wondering if there is anyone that could advise how difficult it is to remove all the interior or matte finished plastic pieces. thanks

it looks like you may have to detatch the handlebars to get to the piece under the handlebars?

did you have to remove the front or rear wheel to get to the fender pieces?

I am also curious about this. I am thinking about painting the floorboards with Krylon Fusion paint and swapping out the seat and grips to match.

Bump.

Would be nice if there was a site with a model Buddy then the ability to switch the color panels to different configuartions to see what it actually looks like before doing the really thing.

I suppose if you have minimal photoshop skills - you could swap out the colors from the original pictures on the Genuine Website. You can also use GIMP which is the free version of Photoshop.
Download GIMP for Windows Here

I am doing this to setup color combos for my new Buddy. I will post the pics when I get it completed.

Hmm—interesting feature for MB!

If I have time this weekend I may throw one together!

has anyone removed the front fender yet? i am taking the shell off the buddy this afternoon and there are some screws in some hard spots. i just went and bought a 90 degree phillips head so i can reach some better. if anyone has taken off the front fender or the front side guards (don't know what to call them) any advice would help out. i am trying to snap a couple of pics just incase i am the first to document it.
