Drain Carburetor

Does anyone have a photo step by step on how to drain the Carburetor on the Buddy?

I understand I put the Stabl in the gas tank (how much is on the Stabl bottle), run the Buddy for 10 minutes to get Stabl through Carb then drain Carb for Winter storage.

I don't have a clue where the Carb is and asked the mechanic the last time I had it in for oil change and he showed me it was under the pet carrier. Didn't seem right to me but could someone give photo of where this and what I turn to drain it?

Carb is under the trap door in the storage compartment.

Never drained my buddy carb, but there should be a drain plug near the bottom of the carb.

Ok, I open up the storage compartment, undo the screws lift off that plate.

Now, where is the piece that I drain the carb for MN winters?

I live in MN and plan on riding as long as the roads are clear .... that is one way to avoid having to drain carb.

Ryder,

IMHO, that little plate in the bottom of the seat bucket isn't really big enough to do what you need.

There are four gold colored bolt(10mm) holding down your seat and seat bucket. Remove those, unscrew your gas cap and lift the seat and bucket off. Replace gas cap (unless you intend to get wasted before you finish the job). The carb is right there, easy to get to. There is a clamp at each end of the carb. Loosen those with a phillips-head screwdriver. Rotate the carb until you can see the screw in the bottom of the float bowl. Remove said screw and rotate the carb back into place. Put the drain screw in a baggie and place it in an easily remembered spot (they are special screws and hard to replace...experience speaking, here...). You will have a cretain amount of drainage until the bowl AND lines are empty. It may even take a minute or two until the vacuum operated petcock fully seals. You may then do whatever you wish to the rest of your gas.

I've read some people do not drain the carb but run Stabl through then park for the winter.

Any thoughts?

That's all I do with any of my vehicles.
Here's what I did last year to winterize Buddy:
1. Filled fuel tank and added Stabil, then ran it around the block.
2. Changed oil.
3. Put the cover on it.

This year I am going to remove the battery and bring it inside. Last spring I had to put it on the charger to start it, so as long as I'm going pull the cover for the battery anyway.....

You didn't drain the Carb?

That would help me immensely...I'm not mechanical and my husband is not able to because of health problems.

I want to be able to ride as long as I can but I want to know when I put this Stabl or SeaFoam in. Do I put it in now even though I am still riding?

I'm able to stay warm except my fingers. I have FirstGear Fargo Thinsulate Leather gloves. Tried silk liners but really no difference.
Need some different gloves OR I possibly bought too small of size for my hand because they are a bit snug.
