If you have a 2012 buddy and your looking to add a F rack

Post by ThreeSheets »

The 2012 Buddies have an updated front windshield/legshield. There are no punch-out openings
for installation of a front rack or front basket.
On 2012 Buddies, the front rack/basket installation points are clearly marked on the INSIDE of
the windshield/legshield panel. These points must be drilled or cut out in order to install a front
rack or basket:
1. Remove three philips screws holding front windshield (1 stainless screw in front, 2 black
screws in rear)
2. Remove windshield panel and place on soft or non-scratching surface.
3. Drill out the cut-outs with an appropiate sized bit. The cut-outs are marked on the inside of
the windshield panel. (Shown in red below)
4. Reinstall windshield panel
5. Install front rack or basket

Yup that's the whole procedure. Exactly the same as on all other model years except in previous years the round cutouts were visible on the outside of the front body panel.

I'm glad mine doesnt have the punch out holes in the front. I saw some at one dealer that did.

Yup. The holes were really ugly. It's good they got rid of them. I always cover them with stickers, but wish I didn't have to.

Yeah, it would look much cleaner without them. That's OK, maybe I'll get a front rack one day...
