I was at the Knuckledraggers rally in 2009 (the Iowa scooter rally) Danielle and her friends did a burlesque show. Man-O-man you should of seen the dance she did.ScootLemont wrote:American Pickers is one of my "must see" shows - I find my self hoping for an old motorcycle or scooter to be found in a barn ever week (turns out its just every other week)

You. You know how to say things women like to hear. +1Southerner wrote:I think she's hot but it's my personal contention that there's nothing a woman can ink into her skin that makes her more beautiful that she is already.
Apparently, I need to start watching this show. And burlesque? At a scooter rally? WHY THE HELL HAVE WE NOT THOUGHT OF THIS.iMoses wrote:I was at the Knuckledraggers rally in 2009 (the Iowa scooter rally) Danielle and her friends did a burlesque show. The Saturday ride ended at the American Pickers warehouse/store and both Danielle and Mike (the skinny one) met and greeted everyone there. Mike even showed for the Saturday night party on his Lambretta.
Well, in general, one doesn't want to be insensitive to the growing number of under-represented riders: Women. Not all women are cool with burlesque. Most are, of course.LunaP wrote:Apparently, I need to start watching this show. And burlesque? At a scooter rally? WHY THE HELL HAVE WE NOT THOUGHT OF THIS.
Most draw a big line between burlesque and stripping. There was a burlesque show at Amerivespa New Orleans, with a scooter on the stage, ha.jprestonian wrote:Well, in general, one doesn't want to be insensitive to the growing number of under-represented riders: Women. The best scooter party I attended this year had strippers. It was at a mechanic's shop... kind of a "Grand Opening" party. There were a fair amount of motorcycle people, and hundreds of moped people there (the Dead Peds rally was here, that weekend). But everyone was respectful of the strippers, and they only got down to very small bikinis. They did pretty well, money-wise.
.
Sure, and with good reason. However, the strippers at the party I mentioned never really stripped -- they had on bikinis, and did gymnastics using a stripper's pole, and had people throwing dollar bills at them -- no touching, no disrespect of any kind, which surprised me, knowing the host of the party.ericalm wrote:Most draw a big line between burlesque and stripping

To me, there's an easy way to fix that... have male burlesque performers also. Of course, that would scare all the guys away, because manly men can't handle other dudes being nekkie, but women don't care. *snicker* I think it's funny. I tease, but really... I think the issue is, across the board, everybody finds the female form more aesthetically pleasing than the male form, regardless of sexuality. I think women were just made that way. Plus, scooters and pin-up girls just go together, don't they?jprestonian wrote:Well, in general, one doesn't want to be insensitive to the growing number of under-represented riders: Women.
