Mobile Website
Does anyone know why MB doesn't have a mobile site? I was poking around in MV on my iPhone and its optimized for the phone and is far easier to see and navigate. I don't know anything about programming or webdesign or whatever, but just curious if there is some reason that it hasn't been done.

Re: Mobile Website
The MV site admin is a 1337 programmer who rolled his own mobile site. It's cool but there are pluses and minuses to every decision and, as I understand it, this and other customization he's done means MV is married to to an older version of phpBB whereas MB is not. You can be 100% sure that phpBB will get smarter and smarter about mobile since that's where all the growth is. Sometimes it's just a good thing not to be on the bleeding edge.

This. The MV code base is SO customized at this point, that it's its own species. jess has all kinds of things built into that, but he can change, update, and bug fix on his own as he likes.jrsjr wrote:The MV site admin is a 1337 programmer who rolled his own mobile site. There are other ways to do a mobile customization here, but as mobile browsers have improved, it's become less and less necessary. Also, as regular HTML/CSS are inconsistently supported across browsers, for mobile, wow, it's much worse.
But we're LONG overdue for a tech upgrade here! Once I get some time off…
