Hi crew,
I came accross this website (http://www.msgroup.org) while looking for information/education to become a better rider.
I thought I would post the link as it might be helpfull to most of us new scooterists.
Even though it is about motorcycles, I would say 90% of the topics and articles apply to us as well. As I was reading through some of the tips and postings, there is a common thread to safety on a bike;
- when in doubt, BREAK! slow down an re-evaluate. Buy yourself some time.
- counter-steering should be second nature on any situation, practice, practice, practice.
FYI

Do you mean BREAK as in "take a break" or BRAKE as in "apply the slowing/stopping device"?EP_scoot wrote:Hi crew,

Taking a break to re-evaluate a situation is a good idea, but it sounds like you meant to say BRAKE, which can be a real bad idea depending on where you are on the road and where you want to be. Braking in a curve could be the last thing you want to do.

Sorry mate, English sometimes escapes me as some words, though they sound the same, they are spelled differently. Then again, sometimes I mix chicken with kitchen, so no excuse there . . . it is a foreigner kind of thing.
I meant to say BRAKE, as in slowing down. They emphasize never to brake while turning. What I meant to say is, for example, if you see a bunch of brake lights all of a sudden going on 10-20 cars ahead, start braking and get ready for something, that way you give yourself more space between you and the car ahead. That kind of thing.
Anyway, I am no expert, the site though has lots of info, don't go by my word . . . heck, I do not even have my license yet, just a permit and my english is barely passable.
