Problem with my turn signal.

Post by dignan »

The right turn signal on my 2012 Buddy 170i stopped working and now only makes a buzzing noise, I assumed it was the bulbs so I replaced with no luck.

The left turn signal works just fine, and the bulbs from the right signal work in the left side as well.

I assume it could be a fuse but I can't find anything online about location of fuses in a buddy.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

There are only two fuses in the Buddy and if one of your signals works, that's not it. Fuse one is under the floorboard next to the battery. Fuse two is in the legshield and is connected to the 12v outlet.

The problem may be in the switch, a short, or an issue with the signal relay, which is under the legshield plastic.

Yeah, I don't have a 170i-specific wiring diagram, but I assume it's similar to the Buddy 50/125/150. On those scooters, if the left-hand turn signal works, that narrows it down because the flasher and everything else right up to the switch is common to the right-hand circuit. In the (sloppily) annotated diagram below, the highlighted circuit is the only part that can be causing the problem. That means it has to be either the switch, the brown wire from the switch to the socket, the socket itself, or the black return wire from the socket.
