One of ours went down

I didn't want to share until I was sure she wouldn't mind, but she's doing fine.

One of our local Misfits hit some gravel on Saturday in a canyon and went down. since she had a titanium knee, her femur cracked. fortunately she's really tough, and had good doctors. She'll be on the mend and hopefully will still scoot at the end of the summer.

I know you're all very concerned, but her vespa will probably be fixed up just fine

all in all the ride was a bit more technical than a few of the folks were prepared for, and maybe she was just trying to keep up.

I'm glad to hear she's alright. With summer approaching, I've seen a lot of roadwork starting up and gravel, steel plates and sand are starting to become real hazards.

Which of the canyons were you riding? PHX is flatland, so I live vicariously through those who ride good roads that I remember.

What about AZ88 to Tortilla Flat?

89 south of Prescott is nice, 89A is a great ride over Mingus Mountain and up through Oak Creek Canyon. There are some nice roads around the Sedona area as well.

I'm planning to ride 191 from this Spring from Springerville/Eagar down to Clifton/Morenci. I've driven it a half dozen times but I bet I it's ten times better on a scooter. I figure it's a good ie for the Yager, but I still think about doing it on the P200...

Skull, I'm glad your rider is on the mend. Tell her to just pound the dent out and stick a "Crashing Sucks" sticker over the damage. Road rash just adds character to a steel bodied bike.

We were in Golden Gate canyon en route to Nederland. Mr.Phil of Genuine fame would probably be very familiar.

If anyone that has no mountains cares to visit, we can take several very windy back highways that are 125cc+ friendly

. Perhaps wait until after Memorial Day though for both weather and gravel purposes!

We are all mostly sad that she will miss most of the riding season. She is one of the folks that drives the energy in our particular club, and anytime she is absent there is something missing for sure.

glad to hear your friend is doing better. good points... watch the gravel, sand, oil slicks, steel plates, so on and so forth. Especially ride within your abilities. If it's a group ride in the twisties, have the leader pull over every few miles (such as stop signs or overlooks) to do a regroup and head count, and allow everyone to not feel pressured to ride beyond their comfort level.

The best day of CBR was Day 7. 260, 89A, 89, 71, US 60, and 72. Show Low, Payson, Pine, Strawberry, Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Jerome, Prescott, Wilhoit, Peeples Valley, Yarnell, Congress, Aguila, Wenden, Salome, Vicksburg, Bouse and Parker. You could see downtown Phoenix from an overlook near Yarnell.
