How to replace Secondary Bearings

Replaced secondary bearings in my scooter today after waiting for the parts to come. Figured why not show how I did it.

I used honda parts they were easier to find and cheaper than the genuine parts. They are made well.

91009-KVY-961

You can use these parts as well these cost more but might be better built.
91001-KCW-003
91002-GA7-701

The tools you will need are;

and some snap ring pliers or some needle nose pliers that fit down the shaft of the secondary

First off the noise.


I will assume that you know how to remove the CVT cover, and belt, clutch to get down to the secondary

Thanks for that pictorial. I've had mine replaced in the past and it looks pretty damn easy.
It's strange that greasing the secondary bearings and the inside of the torque driver and sliding sleeve aren't really covered as part of routine maintenance in the Buddy-pedia world. It's actually covered pretty nicely in a Zuma forum. I don't know how often this should be re-greased but it sure is an easy inspection and the rear drive can get pretty noisy if/when the grease cooks-off over time with the heat generated back there. It depends on your riding; mine's mostly at speeds over 50 bmph. Rarely "around town" stuff.

I would think it would be however it is not. the bearings are cheap enough and if they last 14k miles, ugh what ever.
