If you rev it up and it does not move. it sounds like a CVT problem/

if you put it on the center stand does the rear tire move freely?

Also is it brand new?

+1 on that initial diagnosis. I'd venture a guess at a broken drive belt.

Are you sure it's not still on the center stand?

Do not run the scooter on the kickstand. If you're sitting on it, that's a different matter. :)

That is exactly what I did - they will be picking it up later today. I'll let everyone know what the diagnosis was. Thanks again!

What a weird story. No customer ever left my shop without starting their bike with the button and the kicker, and taking their new Buddy on and off of the center stand in front of me. Dealers, posts like this are the reason you have to do this. Every Buddy I ever sold was test ridden by a mechanic before a customer took possession of it. Whoever sold this person a scooter at this level of understanding made a serious mistake.

Hello Masterg:

Help me understand....
your saying the new scooter of yours was on the centerstand and that is the reason it did not move forward?

Hello Pattio:BuddyLand:

I agree with Pattio............... this is one "Weird Story", and one that generates curiosity and wonder, much better than tires and CDIs.

Such that I would like to nominate this this topic to be memorialized in the.......

Modern Buddy Topic Hall of Fame......"MBTHF".

We'll never know unless the op comes back with an update. 'Bike is still up on the centerstand' is a possible, but unlikely explanation. 'Bike has a defective drive belt that broke silently in the night in the driveway' is a possible, but unlikely explanation. My money is on 'brand new bike was purchased last year and has a tank of bad gas and a clogged pilot jet', but we'll never know unless op updates. Regardless, op loves their bike and has a positive attitude, so I believe this will work out well.

I had a high-level goal as a dealer: 'No Callbacks'. All of my efforts at education and briefing and coaching were towards the goal of eliminating those first-in-the-morning calls from someone who had handed me thousands of dollars the evening before and now had a cute colorful plastic paperweight in their driveway. Sometimes products really are defective (although with the wonderful Genuine Buddy this was highly, highly unlikely) so every such call was a learning opportunity for me to adjust my briefing to help a novice owner avoid a pitfall. For me, the MB forum was a valuable tool to help understand the mindset of a new owner and coach them through the pitfalls before they happened. Best of luck to op and to their dealer.

Was this a typo, or was he agreeing that it was on the center stand ?
"Stella" is Latin for "use threadlocker on all fasteners"
