Mine arrived today...that was FAST!! the total was actually like 88.60 total or something like that, less then 90.00 bucks. It came in a Prima box, nicely bubble wrapped, and a sealed bag with instructions, and package with exhaust gasket, spacers, and ss bolts.. I'm loving the 115.00 savings...it paid for my new Michelin S1's....Just dropped everything off for installation..should be ready tomorrow morning...I'm STOKED!!!!!

yeah, quick for me being I'm pretty close to Illinois... Yes, you will be HAPPY....It's packed really well so it should arrive safely...I was a little concerned, because of the low price, and because some had mentioned that when they had gotten deals, it was missing a few parts... But this one is a winner... I need to go leave positive feedback for the seller.....MrChet wrote:Nice!
Mine has finally left IL but being on the left coast it isn't scheduled to arrive until the 14th.![]()

Mine came Monday but I didnt get a chance to install it until yesterday. It came Prima boxes with all bolts and spacers as well as a new gasket. Install was easy. Most of the time was spent looking for a socket that was thin enough to tighten the bolts by the header.
I also had to do it twice b/c of a slight exhaust leak...I realized that I forgot to take out the little conical piece from the stock pipe to fit into the Prima.
Having done it twice now, it's an easy 10-15 minute job with the proper tools.
Went for a ride today. It's a little peppier and sounds a bit lower. It's not loud by any means. Compared to the Sito+ on my Stella it sounds like a whisper.

Cool my Friend.....I had the dealer install mine since I was having them do the spring and sliders too..... You noticed about the same things as I did.... Mine didn't feel like it needed a rejet, but I figured with summer heat coming on and me being fat at 185 pounds, and planing on taking some trips, that maybe we had better rejet. Took it to the Scooter shop on Thursday. They didn't have the next size up in jets, so went 2 up......WAYyyy to FAT!! wouldn't run but about 45-50 and then started spitting and coughing...they had to order the next up from stock.... we'll see how that goes, I may have to go back to stock...Love the pipe though.....

Gasket issue
Installed the pipe last night. Only issues was figuring out that the '08 Pamplona 150 doesn't come with an exhaust gasket. At least, I couldn't find it/get it off.
I'll describe as best I can what I found - the exhaust tube coming from the engine is flat and contiguous with the silver metal machined engine block (the part with the 2 threaded bolts). I thought the silver metal part was the gasket, but after closer inspection it seems to just be part of the engine. Hopefully a few nicks from my screwdriver on the outside edge of the block won't matter.
First impression: It's really loud! Deep sound and very noticeable, especially at low speed. Loud enough I'd consider it rude to WOT near a crowd. At higher speed the sound is minimal. I used the included gasket, so hopefully it's not a leak making it this loud. No backfires and very strong flow from the end of the pipe so I doubt I have a leak. Maybe I'll pull it off and check for carbon streaks on the gasket after a few rides.

Wow, mine is no where near loud at any speed. Slightly louder at idle, but only noticeable to those familiar with the stock pipe... At WOT maybe twice as loud but way quieter then the kids I pass walking on the sidewalk.

Exhaust volume
Hmmm SonnyD how many miles do you have on your 125? I wonder if maybe the 25cc difference between us makes a difference, or perhaps how broken in the engine is? I have 8.5k. It's noisy but I retract the statement that I wouldn't WOT near a crowd, it's not that loud.
Manual_Override could you post here if you have a stock exhaust gasket on your '09 Pamplona? Also whether it was easy to get off? I would REALLY appreciate it!

Re: Exhaust volume
I have 2500 miles on mine....I wouldn't think engine size, being that small a difference would make much noticable difference... Stock, I can't really tell one from the other.... I just wonder if maybe it's a small leak or something?? Does it actually sound louder at the rear of the pipe, or just overall? Mine basically just has a more mellow tone to it.. The stock exhaust to me just has a "put put put put" sound to it, and the Prima actually has a little tone to it...hard for me to describe in words.. I found this youtube video, and this is just what mine sounds like......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUgc5BYZMEITh17kit wrote:Hmmm SonnyD how many miles do you have on your 125? Thanks for the feedback. I think I found a leak. This morning when I started it up I put my hand close under the engine and felt some air forcefully pushing out. I assume that's coming from the gasket/pipe interface. I probably won't have time to pull it apart for a while, but the question still remains why it's leaking that much. Maybe I'll reinstall more carefully screwing the bolts in the order Prima prescribes, and if that doesn't do it I'll reinstall without the gasket.

That sounds like that would be a good start.. If you have a leak at that point, it would definitely create a loud, or louder situation....Let us know how it turns out....Th17kit wrote:Thanks for the feedback. I think I found a leak. Prima Pipe Installed
I installed the Prima pipe today. Loving the sound already. I recording this video for anyone interested in the comparison between the stock pipe and the Prima. I find it to be a much more pleasant tone, and not dramatically louder.

I have the same exhaust leak I think. I feel hot air at the header. I've tried re-installation. Let me know if yours is resolved by removing the gasket. If that doesn't work I may go try some sealant at the junction.
Bike still seems to run fine. It's not very loud but when stopped I can smell some exhaust that wasn't there with the stock pipe.

The motor is cooled by a fan which circulates air around the head.
Be sure this is not the hot air you are feeling.
If you aren't having popping or backfiring (pre-ignition) on deceleration, you probably don't have an exhaust leak.
If you do have an exhaust leak, loosen all 4 bolts (the 2 on the exhaust port and the 2 mounting bolts) and tighten the 2 on the header first. Then tighten the 2 on the mounting bracket. If that doesn't fix it, use some Permatex Ultra Copper gasket sealer on the flange of the header on the pipe when you install it in addition to the compression gasket that sits inside the exhaust port. I use the Ultra Copper every time I re-install my pipe and never have a leak.
Just some stuff I've picked up here on MB and with personal experience over time. Hope it helps. YMMV.

So I got mine installed yesterday. I was surprised at how easy it was. The only problem I had was the new pipe is wider and my socket got stuck between the pipe and the nut on the header. I think I was able to get it tightened properly though.
Th17kit, there was no gasket on my stock exhaust either. The stock pipe had sort of a bump where it mounted to the header. I guess that was enough to maintain a seal.
Sorry about the shaky cam, but here's a comparison between the stock exhaust on my wife's scooter versus the prima pipe on mine.

Exhaust leak
I had time to re-install the pipe today. I read on a thread here about how leaving big exhaust leaks can "burn a valve". I don't know what that is but it sounds like scary $$$ so I took care of it.
So, the Prima gasket didn't have soot on it anywhere unusual, neither did the pipe flange or the engine flange.
I reinstalled very (very very) properly. It sounds about the same from what I can tell. It's loud. The pipe is developing a beautiful copper/gold tone, so I suppose everything is in order. Maybe the fact that my scoot is at 8k and I'm practically always WOT makes a difference?
Toksic thanks for the great info. I'll continue to listen for popping/backfiring but I haven't heard that yet. I believe you are right about the hot air being from the engine cooling because it doesn't smell and seems to be coming from the rider's left side of the engine.
I will post a video in a few days with a good camera so we can all compare.
Also Toksic I know you're in Denver, have you done a rejet on yours?

Well, it is definitely louder at WOT....They do turn a great color on the header don't they!!!!!
I wouldn't think in Denver, you'd need a rejet....?? I finally did mine here in Kansas...I'm 4000 feet lower then you...and 1 step is just about perfect.....

Nope, no re-jet. 31K on the pipe. Plug looks good and header is a nice golden color; no "bluing" (which can be an indication of running lean and/or hot).Th17kit wrote:...

Here's a quick vid I made of the Prima pipe, finally. When I remounted I didn't think it was quieter, but now after a ride my ears aren't ringing so it must be somewhat quieter. Turns out the GoPro 2 doesn't have amazing sound quality, oh well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDNKuWt0 ... e=youtu.be
I get the popping too, only off the highway or some other high speed situation.
