B-09R Scooter

Post by troutster52 »

My wife loves our Buddy, so I was kicking around the idea of buying another 50cc scooter so we could each have one and ride together. I found on craigslist, a 2011 B-09R. The seller says it runs great and only has 500 miles on it but I can't find anything about the model. He said he isn't sure about the brand, but thinks its called Pease. I can't find anything about that either. Youtube has reviews on the bike but sound on my computer doesn't work. Is this scooter worth while or a cheap piece of garbage?

Does it have registration/plates and title?

This sounds like a Peace Motorsports:

I'd be wary of any company that advertises their wares as "Cheap" right on their web site.

If you know what you are getting into (Chinese scoot) and it's super cheap w/o any DMV headaches, it could be ok. You should plan on giving it a good once over (i.e. redo the PDI) and replacing some hoses, plug, filters, all the fluids etc.

May not be worth your trouble but even I have been looking for a 50cc scoot to have around for friends w/o endorsements. My price range for such a bike with a title and current reg/plates is in the $300-$500 range. Otherwise, I'd just get an old Honda scooter. [/quote]

What do you mean by "redo the PDI?" I am comfortable doing tinkering things with it (I am reviving a Puch Maxi for fun) but would like the ability to drive it regularly without any trouble.

Pre-Delivery Inspection

If you buy a reputable brand bike from a dealer this is done when they uncrate the bike. Many Chinese bikes drop ship in the crate straight to your garage so it's never done.

Here's an idea of what a PDI entails:
