Buddy 170i gas milage

Post by Wolfhound »

Now that is broken in I did a gas milage check on my 170i and was surprised
to find that I am getting 99 mpg. By my GPS I am averaging 52 mph on
my trips, so needless to say I am pleased. Is any one else keeping track
of their 170i gas milage? :D

if you update the tires from the stock, they work just a little better too.

My wife averages over 100 on her 125, I bet a 170i would be phenomenal :P.

How many miles are on the 170?

I've been getting 70-80 on my 10 mile commute to work (mostly stop and go at lights), at 650-ish miles now. I don't know what my average speed is, I should start tracking that.

With about 550 miles on it since I purchased it new last December, my '12 170i Italia has been averaging 77 mpg. My best fill-up was 83.5 mpg where I had been on a short trip at a steady pace of 52 - 55 mph.

I have 526 miles on it as of today. If the weather stays dry for a while I will
start riding more. My riding is from home to various locations locally, 2 lane
state roads, very little stop and go. Lots of curves and hilly(am in the foothills
of NGA). I am sure that the mpg's would drop if I were doing city riding.
Going to wear the tires out before I put new ones on. I am cheap!!

nothing wrong with that!

At least get to 1500/2k miles before replacement then. You'll get a tiny bit more speed and MPG as it breaks in. That kept up for me all the way to 3k miles.

I have 3600 miles on my 170i and I have been averaging right around 92-93 mpg. I commute 40 miles per day, about 25 miles is 45-55 MPH rural roads and the 15 miles are stop and go in town. There are 6 decent sized hills along the way. I also have a 125cc with 18,000 miles which averages close to 89 mpg on the same commute.

Very little stop and go on my trips and that might be the reason I get a tad more mpg's. I will continue to keep track of it and let all know if it drops. If
the mpg's being posted here is any indication of Buddy performance then
riding one is a no-brainer.
