I now have a Charging Outlet!

Post by SonnyD »

OK, so I was jealous that my 06 didn't have a charging outlet...so I set out to rectify the problem... I went to my local Genuine dealer and picked up an OEM Outlet, then bought some wire, terminals, wire ties, and a fuse holder... The part that took the longest was going to the hardware store and getting a hole saw....Of course they didn't have the one I need (1-1/8") all they had was a 1" and a 1-1/4"..I didn't want to risk the 1-1/4 since it would be pretty darn close to the lip of the outlet, so I got the 1" and did some fine trimming by hand... All done and it works perfectly... I doubt that if you didn't know, you would never Know it was not installed at the factory...even though it isn't remotely a hard job.. Now with my Outlet, my new LED tail light, and my Halogen headlight bulb, I'm ready to roll... Just thought I would share....

Nicely done.
But, you have a little more to do. Take all those stickers off the inside of the leg shield and the back of the headset!
Then, you are indeed ready to roll.
.::I know the voices in my head aren't real, but man do they come up with some great ideas::.

LOL, thanks guys.... I usually do take all the stickers off of stuff, but for some reason, I haven't done it here Obviously.....They've been on there for 7 years now, I think Buddy may go into "withdrawls" if I remove them, LOL

LED tail light? How did you work that? Is it posted here somewhere - we just picked up a 2006 and would like to do that as well.

Thanks and kudos on the other - did not even notice it was missing.
