A Key Left in the Ignton

Post by still shifting »

It was yesterday at my bank where I saw a 50cc off brand sitting at the bike rack, where the scooters all park, with the key in the ignition. I thought about going back in to mention to whom? So left it all as it was, but I wonder if I should have played the Good Samaritan? The fact that the scoot was a bit rough and dilapidated probably was a factor n my choice. What would you have done? You could have put a note in the pet carrier that says YOU LEFT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SO I THOUGHT I WOULD INTRODUCE MYSELF

Lights on or not?

If the lights were on i definitely would have flipped the key to turn them off. dead batteries are no fun. i actually learned that the had way. once at a Culver's and once at a SuperTarget. No one disturbed the bike a milimeter, but...my battery was dead when i came out.

i also might have taken the keys out and put the in the cubby if there was one.

You missed your chance to thwart the bank robbers by disabling their getaway vehicle.

Actually the key was in the off position, was a bit worried about it being stolen.

As one who has done the same thing more than once I would have ignored it but I would have made a mental note of something like "Oh yeah, I've got to remember to pull the key on my bike when I park in a public place".
