Got the head installed that I hand ported(actually only cleaned it up and smoothed it). Its an NCY big valve head 28mm intake with 23.5mm exhaust. Not as torquey down low but more power from about 4k to wide open. And really the only power it lost down low was the ability to pull the front wheel up from a dead stopm now it starts pulling the front a few feet after launch. It accelerates much harder throughout the rev range. I have some 2000 rpm clutch springs and kevlar belt to install. I may up the weights by 1 gram. It easily pulls to 9k before hitting 40mph. Haven't had chance to see how it does on the top end. If anyone would like I'd be willing to clean up a head for them. Just to spread the knowledge. I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination but I do have a nice rotary tool setup and a few thousand hours hand finishing tire molds. I'm kinda shocked how much difference it made. Current engine mods are NCY transmission kit, 12 gram sliders, 161 BBK, NCY ported head, debaffled and de snorkeled air box, and a 110 main jet. Also have a trailtech Vapor installed to monitor CHT.
The stock speedo was hopeless. 62mph indicated 51mph actual. I gutted the speedo and ran the new wires straight through it. I saved the gas gauge. I will get it better integrated later.
The picture below shows where I mounted a similar Trail-Tech computer on my RH50. Std. speedometer still works; I find its optimism charming and inspiring!

Results: Previous best level ground top speed 51mph tucked GPS'd. New top speed 60 mph level ground sitting UP. Cylinder head temps run around 230-280f around town. 335f when running WOT. Powerband is raised by about 1000 rpms. I tried the 2k rpm clutch springs and did not like the soft hit which I'm sure was bad for the clutch and or belt. Its definitely fun to ride. I wish I could afford a DR pulley hit clutch. For now I'm pretty satisfied I'll probably do a cam, carb and intake manifold next spring. Possibly some nice NCY forks.
Trackday at Heartland Park Topeka. These were guided testing runs which were pretty gentle. But still fun despite the rain.
