HALP. 170i maintenance.

Post by AWinn6889 »

Alright, I haven't been on in a while, but apparently I still fail miserably at using the search.

My darling 170i is at a little over 6k, and I have sold it to a dear friend and am going to be getting all of the maintenance done before I let her take it- she's moving far away with it, and I want to make sure that it's all set before she leaves.

So, what I know that I definitely want/need to do- new rollers/sliders, a new belt, air filter, oil filter, valve check- pretty much the yearly check up plus some extra stuff.

Before I get on the phone with someone at motorsport or scooterworks, I want to know, what the heck size rollers/sliders do I need, and what the heck size belt do I need?! Ever since Scooterworks re-did their website it has been an absolute horror to find parts for specific bikes, and time is limited, I do not have the time (or patience) to get the wrong stuff only to find out when I go to install it.

I am talking about a 2012 Buddy 170i.

For reals, my brain is going to explode. :goofy:

For the 170I everything is the same as the 150cc. Your gonna need the Vespa 150cc oil filter, 11g rollers, and the belt I think is any standard one for a 150cc. Try scooterlounge.com That should point you in the right direction! On the Scooterlounge website the belt is the same for the 125/150cc. The OEM air filter is a strip one not the round one. Or call scooterwest. What happened to you?

I already knew about the filters and stuff, I just needed belt and rollers info, but I appreciate you being thorough! I actually called the guys at Scooter West/Motorsport yesterday and ordered all the stuff I needed, they are super helpful there.

I have been busy! I started, well, two full time jobs really. The first one as a supervisor at the CVS around the corner from my house, which I left because it sucked. Then the second as a service assistant/receptionist at a local car dealership, where I have been for the last four months. When I'm not working I'm out and about whether it be riding, hiking, going to shows, running errands, doing housework, etc etc. Just haven't had a lot of down time.

Now that I have sold the Buddy to my friend, I bought a 2009 HD Nightster with only 600 miles on it (it belonged to the Harley dealership owner's wife), just brought it home today!

The easiest thing to do would to call Max at Motosport. He will hook you right up!
