Yeah, I know... a cheap Chinese scooters... what can I say - don't have the funds for a Buddy javascript:emoticon(':?') but it does what I need it to do - and it's a delivery scooter, so it has an awesome solid rack on the back that can actually bear a significant amount of weight - no more riding around with a heavy backpack as with my previous scoot.
But, aaargh, apparently I'm back to walking with a heavy backpack 'cause it appears someone done STOLE it during daylight!! Which is pretty damned brazen, as my guess is it was lift into the bed of a pickup job, and while I don't live on the busiest of streets, I don't live on the quietest of streets either.
And, recently moved cross country, finally got a moment and the $ to transfer registration, etc. to Arizona. Replaced shredded back tire (yeah, I know, cheap Chinese scooter...) and, yay, turns out one of my neighbors rebuilds motorcycles and used to work in a scooter shop and he's a really nice guy - I can do general maintenance and some trouble shooting, but haven't had it all that long so I'm not all that familiar with the inner workings yet.
Anyway, probably 'cause it's been siting for over a month (tho made sure to rev it up at least once a week) engine wasn't turning over but neighbor sorted things out javascript:emoticon(':D') - and, well, that's why it was on the street - hubby took it for a test spin around the block and then parked on the street instead of in front of our kitchen window, per hubby "in case I wanted to take a spin".
Well, he forgot to make use of the nifty ignition cover or the cable lock javascript:emoticon('')
So here's the details, in case anyone from the Tucson area is on board...
Stolen From: E 8th Street & 3rd Avenue about 1/3rd of the block on E 8th from 3rd Ave towards 2nd Ave, Tucson, AZ
Make, Model, Year: 2012 Black Transit 150cc, wheels have red rims
Plate Number & State: LA MC524885
VIN: LHJTLKBR2CB500004
Hubby thinks it might have been towed, but I doubt that (tho will be calling tow yards shortly here) for various reasons that amount to I definitely would have heard/seen a tow truck!
And, well, having things stolen always suck, but for me, this really sucks, as I have multiple autoimmune diseases and a spine that has decided to rapidly deteriorate... so that amounts to various physical limitations that make it difficult (on a good day) or impossible (on a bad day) to walk any distance - and definitely not while carrying a heavy backpack (only vehicle and only nearby food store is rather pricey food co-op, just one of the many things scoot was handy for)....
And it allowed me to leave the confines of the roughly four block radius I exist in when I have to be on foot javascript:emoticon('').
And, it was a gift, and I definitely do not have the $ to replace it.
And no, not currently insured... should have been, but seems I missed some fine print regarding Progressive's installment plan - chose the "pay in two installments" plan - well, that's the same company and way I paid for coverage for my last scoot, and I swear the second installment was due during the 5th month.
But nope, less than a month after I paid the first installment, Progressive automatically withdrew the 2nd installment (guess I also missed notification of an upcoming payment) from my bank account - which didn't have the funds to cover it, so all that amounted to was cancelled insurance and a negative bank balance, thanks to all the lovely penalty fees.
As I was moving in roughly a week, decided I'd just wait and get it insured in Arizona - and really wasn't worried about theft, as, until today, it's been locked to a post right outside my kitchen window - and we live in "sorta gated" apartment complex - no quick and easy way out with a 150cc scooter and plenty of eyes and ears around, not to mention a neighbor with a dog that barks when anyone other than his owners are in the vicinity.
OK, self-pity and whining over with... if anyone happens to run across my scooter - well, don't know if I'll have $ for a reward, but I've got lotsa skills (freelance graphic/web designer plus I make all kinds of things) and happy to "reward" that way!
It's a long shot... but stranger things have been known to happen...
Apologies for posting a mini-novella - the art of writing short messages defies me!

Looks like we've had a sighting of your scooter. Here is the note I got from one of our riders:
"9:20am, being ridden north on Campbell, thru the intersection @ Speedway, turned right (East) into the alley between Speedway & Helen (behind the Boston Chicken). Tall, thin rider w/black full face helmet, no other gear."
I think i will be riding near that part of town today. I will look around.
