How many miles???
How many miles do you get on a full tank of 2 stroke oil with the Buddy or Roughhouse 50? Que. #2: Did you do a gear oil change at 200 miles? That seems really early.
I usually go so long between oil refills that I'm not really sure how many miles / gas fill-ups it is. On road trips of 1200-1500 miles, I've always had to refill somewhere along the way, so I'd conservatively guess about 800 miles. I keep a little 3.2-oz oil bottle (intended for mixing with a gallon of gas for lawnmowers or chainsaws) in my glove bucket just in case I run out some place inconvenient.
Since there was no urgency for an engine-oil change, I had probably about 1000 miles on my Buddy before I took him in for service (including gear-oil change) the first time.

I did both the 200 and the 600 mile service. The 200 probably wasn't necessary really. As TVB said, about 800 miles per bottle of Motul, seems like a good estimate. If you leave the Roughhouse stock. You'll use fuel and oil faster if you make performance mods.
I do use the Motul that my dealer sells, and was originally in the scooter. I would not use a cheap brand or something sold for a chainsaw unless I was desperate. One reason is that the Motul may smoke less. Another is that I trust the quality, but I have no good data to show it matters. Seems like spending a little extra is cheap peace of mind. Also, gives me a reason to visit my dealer. Good people!
