Stupid Traffic Lights

Post by Mcanaves »

What does everyone do about traffic lights on a sensor? Especially late at night, I find myself in weird spots where the light won't change (because the sensor doesn't pick up my 125) and I have to improvise.

Suggestions?
I had the same issue parking at the airport the other day- I couldn't get a parking ticket because it didn't think anyone was there.

Some states have laws that allow you to run the light after a certain amount of time, of course if its safe. That's what I usually end up doing when I go to work early in the morning on weekends.

Sometimes you can see where the sensor is buried under the pavement as there is a large circle over it. Like a circle was cut in the pavement and the outline patched with black tar or something similar. The circle is usually wide enough (5' - 6' in diameter) so that I can get my scooter inside of it when I make the stop. This usually, but not always, triggers the sensor to change the light to green. Try it.
