The 125 Buddy is a nice size...40 lbs. heavier with a 1.5 inch taller seat than the Met. I could have got a Buddy 125 for the Met Trade-in plus $2300 out the door difference, but went with the smaller Roughhouse. If I could only have one scooter though, it would probably be a 125. I wonder if they will offer rebates on the 2013 models soon now that 2014 models are out? Demos offer good value too often if money is tight. I just wouldn't pay the same for a 2013 or demo as for a brand new 2014 even though dealers try to charge the same. It will make a difference if you sell it or trade it in in 2 or 3 years.
We obviously own a 125 Buddy (6 years now) and have ridden Honda Mets several times in the past as rentals. There is really no comparison. The Buddy is a substantial step up in power, handling, acceleration, and braking. I am sure you will find it an enjoyable ride. You didn't say your size as a rider. I would normally recommend sitting one to be sure the geometry works for you. I'm 5'9" and my partner is 5'3". We both fit the Buddy just fine.

I second the above. Both your money and your faith are well placed. I guarantee that you will NOT be disappointed! BTW, I know what you mean by the hassle of Craig's List. If you don't go that route and decide to use your Metro as a trade-in, check Kelly Blue Book at www.kbb.com for the Metro's trade-in price, i.e. do your homework first before you're sitting across the desk from the dealer sales person. I now have come to the end of my tolerance for scammers, "no shows", and low-ballers on Craigslist and I have concluded that I will NEVER sell my Met!
The Kelly Blue Book pricing on it now makes it less "valuable" than my Trek bike, so to heck with it! I will keep my little "Squirt" and save up for my Buddy in the spring! I will own two scooters, at least for awhile.
Meanwhile, I am hoping to get a test ride in on a Buddy and I am watching CL for local deals.

I do a lot of stuff on CL and, yes, scammers and low-ballers just seem to go with the territory but it's something you get used to. Some of them are downright entertaining! I don't respond to the scammers "have you sold it yet" ploys and a polite "no thanks" to the low-ballers seems to work. Haven't had a no-show yet but it's bound to happen and that will definitely be irritating. Deb, it's just possible that your negative CL experience was an exception. Give it another week and then try it again. I wish you were closer as I would be happy to let you test out my 170i. But then you would be so spoiled you would not want to ride anything else! Just kidding of course.
