I can't believe how many ads appear for 50cc scooters here in California where the seller indicates that you don't need an motorcycle license to ride a 50CC or above scooter. An M1 is required here to ride. Trying to "FLAG" these ads as misrepresented seems to be a waste of time.

Yeah it's a lie to get people to take their 50cc off their hands....

we get that tons in CO. Though the insurance/license requirement was only enacted in '10.

In many cases I agree, but it's more than that. Many people still believe that sub-50cc scoots can be driven license free. People in AZ have even been told that by DMV personnel. Years ago I went to the Tempe PD and asked. They were quite happy to tell me the rules!
