[UPDATE] Darth Vader bike COMING TO USA!!!

Post by jrsjr »

Honda have designed a bike for Darth Vader and they claim it's going into production. What do you think? (Hint: It's powered by the DCT motor so this is a not as big a stretch as it looks)

I saw that over at MV. Hate the fairing, especially (or only) the pointy parts. Kinda like the rest, especially the seat. I think I could be comfy on that seat. Too bad we won't see it here.

I like the wheels and tires. The muffler isn't bad. To me, everything else is gross; just terrible.

So, I pretty much hate it.

Absolutely! Simply walk into your local Honda dealer and buy a 2014 CTX700 DCT ABS for $8799 and Honda USA will even throw in the rest of the motorcycle free of charge. That's a lot of rolling technology for not a whole lot of $$$ :)

EDITed because I fluffed the displacement the first time.

What's up over at Honda, they made the new cb500 series look so good. The new Valkery is just gross along with this thing. I said thing I'm not even going to call that a scooter. Honda please fire the designer that used to work for Pontiac, we can tell he's there.
what did you trade the day for?

I sorta think it's cool, but then again I liked the looks of the Yamaha Morpheus too.

That being said I will keep my CTX700DCT, TYVM.

It's really a bike of contradictions; at least looking at the concept pics in the link.

All that fairing and then the handlebars are just a naked bar with exposed clamps inside there?
The instrument cluster is hideous (purple backlighting?!) and then the gas cap looks great.
High-tech but chain driven?
It actually swoops back kinda nice toward the rear but then they didn't integrate the rear turn signals?

Strange indeed.

Looks weird, but could be very comfortable in cool weather. The DN-01 looked better and had a v-twin, but MSRP was around 11 grand! I guess I would rather buy the odd looking Vultus and have a few grand left in my pocket.

American Honda have announced they are bringing the Darth Vadar bike to the USA. Who woulda thunk it? Here's the scoop on that and on an update to their PCX150 scooter. See, I finally found a way to make this thread scooter related! :D

I wasn't planning on logging in today but I didn't expect to see this here.

I just have to say that I love this thing and nothing will stop me from getting one. I see a lot of hate for it on other forums and so many people comparing it to the DN-01. And honestly, that just makes me want it more.

I had already started budgeting to get a CTX700D because my commute is about to go from 9 miles/day to 50 miles/day. The NM4 (CTX700J) mechanicals are exactly the same as the other NC700/CTX700 bikes. People quickly got over hating on those bikes. Besides scooters, they are the only bikes I see on the road during the week or in the rain. Of course everything is outnumbered by garage kept Harleys on Sunday. If the aesthetics keep this thing from getting respect, well, just as with my scooters, my bike doesn't affect my ability to fight you at a stop light, lol.

I'm the target audience. I grew up on Akira and Robotech but I didn't get stuck in the 80's or 90's like most of my friends and peers. I don't much value tradition or custom. I haven't bought a real bike yet because every bike on the market looks just like every other bike in it's class. The design team on this was made up of people with the same sensibilities. Their goal was to build something futuristic and inspired by the badass feet-forward/front-heavy bikes seen all over Japanese shows. This will be the first production bike that comes close to what I've always wanted and I'm jumping on it.

They've dropped Vultus from the name, btw.
